Newsflash

Released - 21 October 2019

Dear members

1. Fifteenth Annual General Meeting, Wednesday, 13 November 2019.
The venue for our fifteenth Annual General Meeting is Amanzingwe Lodge and the time is 18h00 for 18h30.  In addition to the usual cash bar, dinner will be available after the meeting at R70 per person.

With regard to any matter that you would like discussed at the AGM, please contact a committee member. Please also forward your nominations for committee members. (Nomination forms are available on the website www.breoderstroomlandclaim.co.za)

If you think you will be unable to attend in person PLEASE appoint a proxy. (Proxy forms are available on the website – under the menu item “DOWNLOAD DOCUMENTS”). The appointment of a proxy is important because, in order for the meeting to be valid, there must be a minimum attendance and proxies are deemed to count towards the attendance (quorum).

In addition to the matters usually discussed at an AGM the committee will provide an update on the current status of the case and, particularly, venture an opinion on the probability of the trial actually taking place at the end of March 2020.
A formal notice of meeting, detailing the agenda, will be issued shortly.

2. Crowdfunding.
The “Crowdfunding” campaign, with “Backabuddy”, has now raised R18156 and we should like to thank all the donors and our members who have shared the links.
Unfortunately, it still appears that very few members have actually shared the links to the campaign and we ask you to PLEASE, SHARE THE LINKS WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES.
The links are:-https://www.backabuddy.co.za/26778-land-claim and https://www.facebook.com/26778LCAG/
Sharing the links costs nothing and it may bring-in some, at least, of the funds we need.
(If you are uncertain how to share the links, and don’t have a youngster handy, then there are some tips at the end of this newsflash!)

Apparently some members have expressed doubts as to whether payments to Backabuddy will ever actually reach LCAG. Let me put your minds at rest. Funds from Backabuddy are flowing very efficiently, directly into the LCAG bank account, with the deduction of only a very small commission/handling fee. If anybody remains doubtful, and would rather make a direct donation, the LCAG bank account details are shown at the end of this newsletter.

Tips on sharing links:-
1) If you use Facebook, then the easiest and most efficient way is to open your Facebook page and search for @26778LCAG and share that on your own page. Then you can comment and ask your friends to share it further, that way they just have to click “like” and “share” without having to retype the URL.

2) If you do not have a Facebook account then send (using email or WhatsApp) your family and friends a simple message asking them to visit the Backabuddy site and also share the links with their family and friends. Something like:-

Hi Cyril.
Please have a look at https://www.backabuddy.co.za/26778-land-claim and share the link with your family, friend and other contacts.
Regards
XXX
